I’m not sure if there’s a good time or day to go where people feel this place is worth 5 starts but unfortunately, I can’t give more than 1 due to the fact we never got served after waiting 25 minutes.
Took a stroll down today, really pretty from the outside and a lovely spot, that’s where the positives end unfortunately.
We walked in and had a little look at the menu on the wall, we were stood for a few minutes and no one came over to assist, so I approached the “bar” area, where there were 3 staff members, 2 woman who were servers/waitresses in uniform and a man in dirty clothes making a mess ripping papers up.
None of them bothered to look up from why they were doing, so I politely asked if we were okay to sit at a table or if we needed to be sat, to which one of the waitresses mumbled to take a table. I then asked how we order and the same waitress said “At table” so we went out and found a spare table, although all the spare tables had the used plates and cups etc. of the previous guests.
We sat for a few minutes, and the other waitress came and took away the plates etc. but didn’t give us any menus, never mind even noticing us after I thanked her for clearing the table.
After about 10 minutes of no service, my partner retrieved some menus from the menu cart.
We sat for another 5 minutes making our choices.
We then tried to locate a waitress to make our order, which never came to fruition.
The waitress only seemed to want to serve the first 5 or so tables outside the door nearest to the “bar”.
We tried our best to make ourselves known/ gain the waitresses attention, but we were ignored.
I would never shout and make a scene, so in the end, we decided to leave, as within the 30 minutes or so in total of being here, we had no service from the staff at all.
Considering this place seems to strive to be a more upmarket venue here, our experience was far from.
It’s a shame as I was going to look to book dinner there as it’s in a beautiful spot and clearly some good reviews.
One more thing to add, which was that the chairs were extremely uncomfortable for me, I have wide hips naturally and could only be comfortable sitting back like a slob.
Hopefully this can be addressed so they can provide a better service for future patrons.
