I had been looking forward to this restaurant long before I even arrived in Mallorca. While planning the trip, I spent hours searching for authentic local places, and this one immediately became THE restaurant I absolutely had to visit. I already knew exactly what I was going to order: garlic prawns, calamari, and the grilled courgette with goat’s cheese. In my head, it was going to be one of the culinary highlights of the holiday.

Unfortunately, reality had other plans.

The disappointment started the moment we sat down. Our table wasn’t even properly set. My friend had cutlery, but I didn’t, which was a rather odd welcome.

Then the food arrived. The calamari were so salty that they completely overpowered every other flavour. The garlic prawns, somehow, managed the opposite. They barely tasted of garlic or anything else. We ordered focaccia to soak up the olive oil from the prawns, but calling it focaccia felt generous. It was warm, yes, but also incredibly dry, with none of the soft, airy texture you’d expect. It was more of a bread-shaped plot twist than focaccia.

The only dish that truly lived up to my expectations was the courgette with goat’s cheese. That was genuinely delicious and probably the only reason this review isn’t even harsher.

As for the service, it was polite but rather average. Nothing terrible, but it lacked the attentiveness and warmth that make a dining experience memorable.

It’s always disappointing when a restaurant you’ve been dreaming about turns out to be the big letdown of the trip. Sadly, this was exactly that.

It’s a very nice place to eat and spend a little time. The service is really great and the food is amazing. We came five times within one week to have a good lunch or dinner. The Burgers 🍔 and the octopus 🐙 are delicious. Once I asked for a recommendation for a cocktail and I got one that was a surprise but amazing.
I wish a great time here!

J’ai pris une salade César très bonne, le poulpe en revanche un peu petit. Le cheesecake à tomber ! On a payé 3€ l’eau pour une toute petite carafe en revanche … je ne sais pas si c’était normal ou une erreur …

We had a lovely meal at the Olive Tree . Booked a table to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We've never been before but booked as the reviews were good 👍 we arrived to a lovely table with a view of the sea & a complimentary cava! We had the padron peppers & bread & olives to start which both were fresh & tasty . We had the prawn linguine & the turbot ,both meals were very good sized portions & cooked perfectly 👌 the staff were lovely we'll definitely return on our next visit to Palmanova 🥰
