Sips is consistently ranked as one of the best cocktail bars globally, so naturally, the hype surrounding it is massive. While it is undeniably a fun spot to grab a drink, I found that the reality didn't quite match the towering expectations. The cocktail menu leans heavily into the avant-garde—the presentations are unique, but some of the flavor profiles border on being a little "odd" rather than perfectly balanced.

The vibe inside is decent, but it lacked that electric, transportive atmosphere you might expect from a bar with this much global buzz. That being said, the staff is great and it is still a very solid stop if you are exploring Barcelona's cocktail scene. It is definitely worth checking out to form your own opinion and enjoy a good drink, just temper your expectations a bit before walking through the door!

Was in Barcelona and stumbled upon this place while walking nearby my hotel. I had no reservation and was lucky that I only waited about 45 minutes to get inside. The pate was delicious but the star were the drinks for sure. My personal favorite was the daiquiri- fresh, sweet and tart- really enjoyed it. Special thanks to the amazing bartender/waiter Cristiano. He was very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations based on my drinking preferences. Highly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Cocktails were generally good, some felt a little gimmicky but nonetheless was a cool place to try. Service was surface-level friendly but felt rushed and rehearsed. When we ordered another cocktail at 9:40, we were warned about having to vacate the table by 10:30, which we knew going in given our reservation was for two hours. Totally support places having a time limit and needing to turn over tables, but a 50 minute warning to drink one drink seemed excessive and made us feel like the focus was on getting us out the door as soon as possible.

Again, drinks were cool, but not sure I’d go out of my way to go back or recommend SIPS to others.

Completely unreasonable cancellation policy. I was far too ill to attend and cancelled over 5 hours ahead of my reservation while informing them as to why I could not make it. Ive GM’d at Michelin starred restaurants and been the one to enforce cancellations, so I completely understand why they are necessary, but I would have happily attended and shit my pants and vomited on the bar if it meant I didn’t have to pay 150€ for nothing. Additionally, they state I can dispute this by contacting them, yet the email address does not work and my emails were rejected and no one answered my calls. Happy to delete this if someone will reach out for assistance with this matter.

For a bar that is number 3 in the world I was a tad disappointed at first just based on the wait and yes I know it was a busy Saturday night. With that said I do believe that you should have time limits on tables to help to avoid the massive lines on a busy night especially to those who want to come and enjoy the experience and have planned a night/trip around said experience. After waiting in said line then you wait even longer just to order a cocktail, we were smart and ordered two right away to avoid waiting longer and wasting more time which I highly recommend here especially if close to last call like we were. The cocktails themselves were amazing and to be honest I would come back just for the margarita to which I’m a bit of a snob for a good one. The service was disappointing ant first as we had to wait for a server, even though there was plenty of staff. The cocktails are worth the wait alone but the service was not memorable to an extent. Hopefully they can implement some changes, especially on busy nights like weekends but overall worth the wait as the cocktails experience was amazing!

My experience at Sips was deeply disappointing. Despite visible empty spots, I was kept waiting outside under a strange and unwelcoming attitude, only to watch a group of four who arrived after me get seated right away.

The service was painfully slow, my drinks took 10–15 minutes each to arrive, including a 5–10 minute wait for the second part of a two-stage cocktail, and the banana cocktail had zero banana flavor.

Flashy presentations cannot compensate for weak drinks and an overhyped, tiny venue. To top it off, paying the bill took over 15 minutes even though the bar wasn't even crowded, made worse by rigid staff when I needed my change quickly to catch my ride.

Pure showmanship with zero hospitality, not worth the time or money.
