Wij komen zeker terug.

We visited Kipper Bar as a group of five and arrived around 7:50 PM. Unfortunately, our experience was quite mixed.

As soon as we sat down, we were asked three times if we were ready to order, even before we had a chance to look at the menu. The drinks arrived quickly, but the soft drinks were completely flat. We could see the staff pouring them from large bottles behind the bar, so we probably ended up with the last of the bottles. At around €4 per soft drink, we expected them to be fresh and fizzy.

Once we were ready to order our food, it took much longer. We waited about 45 minutes for our starters, which we finished in only a few minutes, and then another 40–45 minutes for our main courses.

Unfortunately, there were several mistakes. The tuna was significantly overcooked, as was the Iberian pork, which made both dishes quite disappointing. The vegetables served with the tuna (peas and carrots) looked as though they had come straight from a can and were presented very plainly. Considering the price of the dishes, this was difficult to justify.

The pizza was good, but nothing particularly memorable. On the other hand, the seafood spaghetti looked very appetizing, came in a generous portion, and seemed to be one of the better dishes at our table.

The biggest issue involved a vegetarian order. We clearly asked three times for a spinach lasagna, but a meat lasagna was served instead. Our vegetarian friend took a bite, assuming it was the spinach lasagna she had ordered, and unknowingly ate meat. We calmly asked for the dish to be replaced. We were told it would take about 15 minutes, but while everyone else finished their meals, the replacement never arrived. After asking another waitress, she explained that she hadn't even been informed about the situation and would check with the kitchen. We then waited another 20 minutes. After more than two hours at the restaurant, everyone had finished eating except the person still waiting for her lasagna, so we had no choice but to cancel it because we had to leave.

In total, we spent around 150€for five soft drinks, three starters, and four main courses, and we stayed at the restaurant for over two hours. Considering the waiting times, the mistakes with the orders, and the overall quality of some of the dishes, we don't feel that the experience justified the price.

To their credit, the staff were polite throughout and offered us a complimentary limoncello shot as an apology, which was appreciated. We also understand that the restaurant was extremely busy because of the football match, so we don't blame the servers personally, they seemed overwhelmed.

Overall, the location is lovely, the atmosphere was lively, and the staff remained friendly despite the pressure. While there were a few positive points, we expected a much better experience for the price we paid. It may have been an unusually busy evening, so it could still be worth trying, but unfortunately our visit was disappointing.
