Die Hwuskroketten, Pulled Dragonfruit und gegrillte Avocado waren super. Haben wir uns zu zweit für den leichten Hunger geteilt.
Der Eistee war leicht bitter, aber sehr lecker.

Delicious meal, fresh decor, excellent service. We had a lovely dinner at Velada. Wines were excellent and we sampled a lot of the tapas. There was a pistachio cheesecake dessert special that was divine.

I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life and primarily ate vegan my entire childhood. Alone in Barcelona—I decided to treat myself and go out to dinner for vegan tapas.

From the pictures, Velada looked upscale and set to be a relatively high end meal. The inside is beautiful as well so I was excited as I sat down.
Here’s what I ordered:
1) spicy olives - pretty much the best thing I got there. Not really spicy but good flavor.
2) Pan con tomate - the bread was fantastic and it came with 4 big pieces. However they are really stretching “with tomato” as it’s an essence of tomato at best. As if they sprayed it on there.
3) House croquettes - Gooey, oily things laking form or flavor. The texture was that of like hot baby food.
4) Papas - Flavor was good and the aioli refreshing, however they were very over cooked and the “spicy oil” has no spice to speak of.

I sat at the bar so I could really watch the staff, of which there were only 2 for a fairly large restaurant. This made the service, even at the bar, incredibly poor. From my food experience, the other food I saw going out, and looking behind the bar/in the kitchen a bit—it’s clear that they are ballin on a budget. Which is fine, most restaurants are, however they sell you hard on an upscale experience. Personally, I would not recommend going here.

Was strolling around the area and choose one of the highest rating on Google. The food is good enough and service is okay. Some of food items tastes a bit dry though.
